When i first read this poem i honestly had no clue what was going on other than she had died somehow. Going over it in class really helped me to undertsand the true meaning of the poem and how we can understand what it means one line at a time. The painting to me seemed to be a symbol of the beauty that the Duchess had when she was alive. The painting meant more than I though it did.

Robert Browning is a good writer, he has written other literary works, but this one seems to be one of his best pieces.
