the actual nature of the relationship is described IC in the text.)
Canon Relationships
Jinx
hexyoutotuesday The first person I saw from home in this world, and she's a crazy, unstylish, moderately evil sorceress and one of my personal adversaries... that is, she went in my room once. The statute of limitations on that crime never expires.
She claims to be from the future, at home, but won't tell me anything about it. And her behavior seems to be a little better: she hasn't attacked me, she claims not to have killed anybody, she says her friends are all heroes, and she apparently works as a dancer... and not even an exotic dancer. She does have a suspiciously large amount of money and jewels, though. I guess my judgment is reserved. Call it 'wary truce'.
Her roommates died in a grisly way around Valentine's. She and her rather asinine angel boyfriend went hunting for the murderer, but surprisingly didn't end up killing him. And by the way, -- they are something. I don't really want to think about it, to be honest.
She offered me a job at her club, formerly the Lux, now called Purgatory. Great. I took it, because I was tired of all the odd jobs I've been doing -- ... yeah, I don't know how well this is going to go.
Red X
thanxforthetoys Red X is here. Well, great. I know nothing about him anyway, except that he's annoying and thinks he's very cool. I don't really want to think about him any more than I have to. Cross-Canon Relationships
Girl-Robin
girlyboywonder An alternate future gender-reversed successor to Robin, or something like that. I just call her girl-Robin, which fortunately doesn't seem to bother her.
Though I think she's only fourteen or so, I know I was the same age when I came to my world; and for that matter, Robin himself was even younger when he began his crimefighting career. I've found her to be competent and effective (strangely seems to lack martial arts training? Fights from a distance), and comes with the usual Batman training. You know, saying people's names without turning around, grumbling "You're late," and so on.
Behaving weirdly after she was apparently kidnapped around Valentine's Day. She skipped our waffle date and she's apparently missing her heart, literally and figuratively. I'm not sure how that works... whatever it is, she's being really cold towards me. It... feels a little like she stopped liking me, and I'm blaming the heart thing, but it's... well, it's not nice to think that she has that feeling towards me somewhere under the surface. Or whatever.
She got her heart back. Apparently she was-- killing people-- when she didn't have it. Bad guys, but still. I really don't know how I'm supposed to feel about that, but I couldn't judge her. Even though she tried to use me as a meat shield for some goons with guns. She's trying to make restitution to them. Really, I know, I should -- turn her in, or something. But how can I do that? It wasn't her fault...
Had another run-in with the Joker with her. This was when the Core (Yes, that) was acting up and our powers were swapped. I don't know why it chose her, but I suppose it could've been worse. Her power is something like manipulating the density of objects around her. Could be useful, but I'm used to mine, for better or for worse. Though I don't think she could have caused the same problems that I can. She dealt with it well, though, which impressed me.
She's been busy with Batman ever since he's made his appearance. And when She-Hulk disappeared, she took over the Avengers, which feels rather right to me, for obvious reasons.
Yako Katsuragi
topslug Eating machine in the shape of a human; could rival Cyborg. Actually, she's really pleasant and a nice girl, a couple years older than me, and she's a detective/negotiator. She seems to have a talent for taking things in stride. She ate ten burgers when I took her out on her first day here. Not that the money's important, but what was that?!
Gave me a gift before Valentine's Day. Uh, that wasn't meant to sound quite like that. She's going to Hawthorne, which isn't a reflection on her, I don't think. Not her fault the place is tarred with the AGI brush.
She's been developing powers which seem to enhance other people's powers. I tried to teach her some tricks of mental control, and she seemed to get a little better. She's really sensible most of the time.
We were both exposed to some chemicals by the Joker through the water supply, but it's worn off now, and we didn't do anything too bad, except cream each other in the face with pies or something like that. She did, however, tell me about a demon that she was semi-forced to work with to investigate her father's death-- and who she seems to have had a mild crush on? I don't know. Something about nice arms. It's kind of funny, really, except for the fact that he mistreated her in the way that demons mistreat people. That part is really worrisome, but I suppose it's safe here.
I also happened to tell her about Trigon in that state, which--I hate talking about it, but I trust Yako enough to not mind--and I've learned my lesson about trusting my friends really trusting them, with something like that. It's a danger that she deserves to know about if we're going to be friends, like I think we are.
She's started working for Re-l as an intern for the NPP, and quit school. She's really active about those things--it's really good for the community. I admire that about her. She was organizing some fundraisers for the NPP recently, including a, um, maid cafe that she asked me to help her with. NOT in the form of being a maid, mind you. Just supplies. Still, I really like her--she's really level-headed and calm, in general, and we click in a surprising way. It's true that, say, I'm not the most sociable person, and she's significantly more so, while I also have more active things to do with my powers, and so on-- but I think on the inside--aside from the demon thing-- we share a lot of the same values and so on, which is nice.
Nelliel Tu Odelschwanck
gamuzadeclares An arrancar, a strange creature from another world which seems to be well-represented in this city. I'm still not sure I get what the head thing is about. She's a very strong fighter, by my observations. She's also been kind and honorable, which I can respect. I asked her to watch me on my birthday in case anything went wrong, and took me down before I could cause too much harm. I owe her a favor for that.
She's apparently not very familiar with human culture, and said I might help her getting used to that. She's been reading romance novels and accidentally calling phone sex lines, so she could clearly use a hand with that.
She reminds me more and more of Starfire, in some ways. For example, you want to try to avoid hugs from her. But she's not quite as excitable as Star, she just has the same relationship with human culture. Case in point: the Indian food incident. Horny hunks, honestly.
One of her friends went home recently and she seems down. I really don't know how to help in that kind of situation, obviously. I wish I were.
Sirius Black
atrumcanis ...obnoxious cheerful Beast Boy-esque prankster English wizard who's, fine, handsome enough, whatever. Anyway. He dragged me out on a date for some reason and we talked for a while. It wasn't too horrible, I guess.
He also wanted to do something about AGI's slave operations, and, well, so do I, in the abstract, anyway.
Apparently he's got something against his family, who are all a bunch of evil snobs or something? Could be serious about that, since he certainly seemed like it. This is where I express shock and surprise that someone of his type might have sprung from an unsavory family, right? --Oh, wait. In all seriousness, though (I need to stop using that word in this entry), it does make it sound like he at least has some principles. I evaded a few questions about Arella and the cult, though I guess he got the general idea.
He also made me go on another date. Typical.
And then he pranked a whole bunch of people in the city. And turned my toaster into a hamster. And then kissed me nothing kissed me. I feel like-- I have no idea what I feel like, okay? I'll figure this out later. Whatever. It's stupid.
Jubilee
thelittlestbub I was introduced to her by Jinx, which is never a good sign, as someone with a house where I could stay later. But she's not so bad. She looks a few years older than me, she's friendly, outgoing, and apparently a superhero in her own universe--but she seems awfully normal for a superhero. She helped me out with a small loss of control in the restaurant where we met the first time. I liked her well enough.
I took her up on the offer. But in between then and now, she was kidnapped, apparently, and she was in pretty bad shape. She's still recovering a bit, and I gave her a copy of The Magic Mountain as bed reading. Which maybe was a little too fitting, but hey. What're you going to do?
Had a rough time when Charles Xavier was killed. As usual, I didn't really know what to say, but I hung out with her on the roof for a little bit and we chatted. She's a reliable friend, though I question her ethics a little bit, given how nonchalantly she talks about her past stealing on the streets and whatnot.
Ahiru
duckyourself A sweet, naive, and honestly, a little--well--dumb kid. No offense, she's just really tempting to tease, and gullible, and all of that. She comes from a world where there are talking animals; she studied ballet there, apparently. She's a little scared of ravens, but she got over it and I think we're friends.
Honestly, she's really nice--probably way too nice to some people--so I do like her quite a lot. It's kind of--inspirational how she keeps her spirits up.
She has some scary dark deep secret apparently, which I find hard to believe, but she feels really strongly about. I don't like pushing people, exactly, but I did a little bit with her. Turns out there's something about a prophecy that she'll never be with the boy she loves, and something else bad. I knew some bad prophecies, and sir, that is a moderately bad one, for sure, but maybe not quite the end of the world. Ha ha.
Clark Kent
isitablurred Clark is a genuine farm boy and a really warm person (don't quite know how to deal with those still, but getting better). He's understanding and kind. He also happens to be Superman. He's about five hundred times more approachable than the other legend who appeared here at around the same time.
He joined the Avengers, and we've been hanging out, getting used to our powers' dynamics and whatnot. I suppose I've also been getting to know him, and... well, surprise, he's not all that different underneath the mask. Well, he doesn't have a mask.
Still don't know how he pulled off that trick with his post, but hey. A good magician never reveals their secrets.
One weird thing: apparently he went to high school with Cyborg, in his world. Wow. That's kind of nice, to be honest. I hate having only Jinx and X knowing who my friends are. Still, always a little jarring when you realize someone who you recognize is actually slightly different from the person you know of.
Batman
kingofrooks It's Batman. Robin can be terrifying enough with his ridiculously-colored costume, when he gets into one of those concentrated, angsty, ruthless, calculating moods. This guy is where he got that from, and that mood is on all the time. This is a legend. He contains all of the crazy in Gotham. Whether by that I mean he keeps it controlled, or he keeps Gotham's crazies in Gotham, or he has all the craziness himself -- Well, probably all of them, a little bit.
He hacks everything, he knew everything about everyone as soon as he got here, and all the Gotham villains have been going crazy since he got here. He took girl-Robin under his wing again, I think -- haven't seen as much of her since he's gotten here. Anyway, he's scary, scary good, and scary bad. I need to remember to stick to my own principles around him, because he's forceful, to say the least. That said, I think it's overall good he's here.
And yes, Jinx told me Batman was Bruce Wayne, but then again, Black Mask also told me that he was Bruce Wayne. I'm not sure there are enough hours in the day for him to be both. And -- seriously, it is not my concern. His identity is secret for a good reason. I'm not going to pry.
Akira Inugami
worldweary_wolf Werewolf. Strong fighter; regenerates wounds of all kinds. It would be difficult to fight him. Younger than he sounds; he's one of those snarky-- and yes, I know I shouldn't be talking--"keep me away from the world" types, but I think he's barely 16, if that. Apparently, he has some serious issues with, you know, caring about human beings. Worse than me, really. My intuition, though, is that he's not a bad guy. I sensed no malice or hostility in him when we were sparring.
Entered my mirror by accident. Not sure how I feel about that one. Guess I should go in my mirror to see.
He has some moral disagreements with me, to put it lightly. He claims not to have compunctions about killing people. Yeah, that's a pretty big no-no, I thought, for most people. Even accidental self-defense might be difficult to live with, you know. That part worries me, honestly.
Michael Xavier
makes_asteroids Head of the House of Awesome and member of the Newcomer Political Party committee, I believe. He seems like someone whose will is very strong, and his powers and resources mark him out as someone who's very dangerous to his enemies. He seems to be operating on the side of the law and of the good guys, in general, but there was that incident in February where he and his cousin Charles (who don't look very much alike, so I guess they were distantly related) killed the Plaster Murderer by mob. Not even Jinx and Gabriel did that.
Still, we seem to be on the same side as far as protecting the house and not letting others come to harm in the Darkness. I can't say I trust him overall, but I trust him to the extent that I understand his intentions.
Claudio Kilgannon
thecrowingtobe Jinx's roommate and a slightly awkward but well-meaning type who talked to me on my first day here. He was pretty nice, especially given the comparison basis I was given.
Okay, this is incredibly awkward. ...sigh. On Valentine's Day, when the pheromones were released by those bank robbers, I sort of hit on him because of them. At the police station. Which he was at in order to identify his other roommate's body. And then he got killed later that night. And... I was pretty out of control. Very. Awkward. Again, he was nice about it, though.
Works at Purgatory with me now, as a bartender.
Slade
terminates Why is he everywhere. This one is a slightly different version from the one at home, but is just as frighteningly dangerous.
Actually, he seems to be slightly less creepy. I'm a little confused by what happened on my birthday--we fought and he knocked me out but left me with Nelliel. Whatever's going on, I'm still going to be on a hair trigger around him.
During the Core acting up in April, he regained the powers Trigon gave him. I have no comments on that. Okay, maybe one -- damn it.
They seem to be gone now, however.
Byakuya Kuchiki
soul_scatter Had tea with him at the ryokan, which seemed like a relaxing tea place and inn until I found out later that it's worked by slaves. That sums up pretty well how Byakuya seems to be to me--he seems like a little bit of a classist, so to speak--not to get all sociological here or anything. But he was generous to me, personally, and gave me a book of poetry to read. We share some interests, clearly. He's also very restrained and hard to read. I don't really know what to make of him, just yet.
Larry Butz
troublesmells Oh, boy. This guy. He started trying to sell hot dogs to me at the bowling alley or something, and he kept being kind of an idiot until, apparently, he touched me, and it temporarily wiped a couple weeks of my memory. Which appears to be his power -- though to be fair, this was during that week when the Core went crazy.
Anyway, we talked later. He seemed to be concerned about it, so I suppose he's not bad, just -- why is everything about him so... You know. Incompetent?
Lee Chaolan
excellentviolet CEO of a company (that makes mechanical ... something? I don't know this stuff), and a martial artist with electricity powers. I met him when the Darkness proofing around the Mall went down at the end of April. He was helpful then, even though I have my doubts about someone whose company is affiliated. I'm not exactly in the business of ... any business, though.I don't know -- he's worth keeping an eye on.
The Joker
he_is_wild Creepy, crazy clown. Worked with Jinx at the Felton Theater (? what?). Sicced two robot bears with lasers on girl-Robin and me. I am not joking.
Released chemicals into the city's water supply on April Fools' Day. Like a moron, I was affected and went around for a few days giggling and -- well. Yes. Don't like him. Kind of scared, too.
Girl-Robin and I went after him after he killed Black Mask, with Re-l. Unfortunately, he just gave girl-Robin a gun and then scampered off.
Batman's here now, and that seems to have pushed him "over" the edge. If that term means anything in this context.
NOTE TO SELF: DO NOT USE EMPATHIC POWERS ON HIM.
Kazuhiko Amamiya
lucycoded He was vandalizing windows during the blackout after the attack on the Core. I tried to stop him, but he eventually got away. He was an obnoxious brat and a near-psychopath, apparently. When I spoke to him later, he claimed to have multiple personality disorder and that his other personality was responsible for the damages. Hard to believe, but he gave reputable medical references.
His alternate personality, Shinji, was involved with the incident where Re-l was kidnapped and tortured. Later--not clear on the details, but Re-l apparently killed him in self-defense. He's been brought back by the Core, of course.
And yes, he may be annoying, but I do not let him get to me. I hang up on him because it's unproductive to talk to him. That's all.

Briefly spoke with him at the library. He's from more than a thousand years ago. Seemed to be strangely interested in the Avengers for a civilian. |
Always more to come--comment to be added immediately, else if we have a log together it should happen.
