Make sense, although I find it hard to imagine how parents insensitive to infants become a lot more sensitive to teens.

mmm.... well, some people seem to recognize teens as people, but not little babies -- so i can see how that can happen.

we're probably dealing here with basic sensitivity and care. though some people find it easier to communicate and relate to kids that are older than babies, i don't know if the issue here is relation rather than basic sensitivity and responsiveness to the child's needs. interesting point, though.
