and I’m hoping I can do it justice. This is a relatively short chapter, but future ones should be longer. Also, I’m relatively new to posting to a community and such, so I apologize if this doesn’t quite work out. And one last thing: the title comes from Elvis Presley's "Jailhouse Rock".

I'm not sure if you are looking for con-crit but there is just one thing I would like to point out so that you can fix it for future chapters. In prison, inmates on Death Row don't have a bunk- or cell-mate. They are always in a cell by themselves. Other than that, this is a pretty good chapter.

I don't really know much about Death Row, so this should be an interesting adventure. And just a quick question, but do you think I should edit this chapter, or just go on with it and change it for the next one?

Research is your best friend for something you know nothing about. And I would edit it now. But if it is too much work, just work on it for the next chapter.
