ive heard about the life gems before-- i really want one..... but anyone i care enough to wear on me in a diamond-- i think id be too upset if they died to be enthusiastic about it...
..yea, I saw a commercial for it (life gems) yesterday while I was watching a movie on AMC (the channel not the person, although that might be kind of fun to watch a movie on Patty... ^_^ ).
Ooo! Like the intro to that one Bond movie... You know where the mostly naked chick was dancing while things were projected across her skin and typical cheesy Bond music played... (Now why can't I remember which one it was. Grr... I feel a Bond movie marathon coming on.) I don't think Patty would go for that though.
And now onto the rant: Thing is about those gems though, is it's just playing on people's useless sympathies about their lost loved ones and useless greed about shiny rocks. That diamond is no more "grandma" than the maggot that nibbled on her when you shove her in a pine box in the ground. *eyeroll* You certainly don't see maggots on leashes being sold to grieving widows do you? Sentimental drivel really. People die. It's part of life. People would get over it faster if they didn't have their own personal Sisyphusian rock to bear.
That is kinda...odd, and disturbing. I wouldn't be able to wear it, but it is kind of a nice gesture. I mean, damn someone's gotta be pretty important to you for you to want to wear them around.
Now, though, I can see people getting this, and then not liking the way it looks on them and tossing it in a drawer.
