Technical Difficulties
I was taking advantage of the long car ride along the Rhine today to compose a post about our trip adventures on Thursday. I don't get a chance to write in the evening because we get back so late. (It is 10:45 at night and we are just heading home)
So I was way behind and had spent an hour and a half writing, when, poof, my post disappeared.

Zombie Walk
July 24th
After a quick nap, Julie and Wolfram wanted to show off their town, Aschaffenburg. Touchdown
We were fortunate to get on the next stand-by flight to Frankfurt and only wound up with a few hours to kill in Heathrow

Clearing out the Cobwebs
A lot has happened in 5 years, so much that I forgot this blog existed. Until, a.) my mom asked if I was going to post updates about the trip and b.) I wondered how I did it in the past.

Into the Final Turn
When I think of a traditional Japanese home, I think of sliding paper and wood walls, tatami mats and removing my shoes before entering. While most homes in Japan are no longer like this, you can still experience the old ways in a Ryokan (literally, "Travel House").

Hiroshima
With the Shinkasen (high-speed train), it is easy to get several hundred miles away very quickly. Since the weather in the Kansai has been crummy, we decided to head for the sunnier (and warmer!) weather in Hiroshima. An hour and a half by train, it was different enough to have a few palm trees and only the occasional cloud.
