Ask R. about the parking sitch near his place. In D.C., parking tends to be zoned, but there are some blocks where anyone can park, for timespans like Monday, 6 p.m. to Wednesday, 9 a.m. When we were last there, that's what we did; we just moved the car when needed.
Or, you can have R. pick you up a temporary permit from the nearest police station and you can reimburse him. I don't think that costs more than $20.
Yeah. What I don't want to do is a) drive in the district during 4 July. b) drive in the district period if avoidable c) be forced to find a new parking spot during my stay (for fear of NOT finding one)
I will keep your suggestions in mind but Holly Bolton just offered for me to park at her apt complex in Tysons Corner which is only 2 miles from a train station. I will probably go with that unless something else happens upon me.
