Well, if I your art here or at deviant is any indication as to what you do at school, then I'm not surprised you don't like it: everything you do is the same! Do you want to learn how to earn money? That is the purpose of any art education: to become capable of earning a living from making art. What you do is like masturbation, you are focused completely at your own satisfaction and you are not the least interested in what other people want, think or feel. Don't get me wrong, I like your paintings and stuff, but as a professional you should be able and willing to draw and paint a larger variety of subjects. Art school is for grownups, not pubescent egoists. You are inwilling to grow as a human being, and you are limiting your artistic ability. Relax, open up, and allow yourself to become interested in what is offered you. It will do you (and your art) good.
I appreciate your concern as well as the honest response (I really do), whoever you are, but please know that I'm certainly no professional. I take what I take from my school, just as I learn what I learn from life..I'm not out there to become a illustrator, a "better" artist or a "better" human being. If I can't meet up to the expectations of you or society that's fine, find someone else. I'm not asking anyone to like my stuff, nor am I one to please the crowds. There are plenty of more qualified artists out there to take the part.
"Growth" and "good" are totally subjective. If you see me as stunted in terms of human or artistic potential (pubescent egotist is an especially neat one), that's lovely, I respect your opinion. We're all entitled to have at least one. :)
