well boys and girls, I just got back from my lovely vacation up the california coast, and I thought it would be fitting to do a massive picture post.
so lets see here..
I really dont remember the name of the first little town we stopped in for lunch, but it was cute, and I had some fairly good tacos
our next stop along the way was HEARST CASTLE the lovely home of William Randolf Hearst, some of you may have heard of this fellow before, so we took a tour of his mansion..and basically, its gatsbys house.
the main building
this guy liked swimming pools
the coast was amazing...kinda reminded me of pv though
tidepools! yay!
can someone tell me 5 marine animals that live in tidepools?!
the view from our room was sweet
woke up the next morning to find this..oo la la
we had breakfast in the "town" of Gorda..it was adorable, but not really a town. just a resturant mainly..
heres.. the town
reeally good pancakes
i forget where this is..somewhere in big sur...but we read the paper in a stream
ooo forest...palmer pictures
next up was MONTEREY!
my good ol bud, john steinback
and another one of my favorites...the MONTEREY AQUARIUM...probably one of the best in the US
seriously
it was awesome
i told my mommy all about bat stars
sweet sea lions and seals just outside the aquarium
OMG!! SWEET SEAL OTTERS!!!
i really am going to start sea otter club
by far my favorite exhibit
they are just the most adorable
more fishes
schooling fish to be exact
BIG fish
our hotel in monterey was right on the beach, which would have been super awesome, but it was cold and windy...all the foreigners went swimming in the ocean anyways...gotta love em
mm candy...monterey at night
soo, by the time we got to san francsico i had used up the memory on my camera...which was disappointing, but the good old fashioned regular camera was there to save us. unfortunately those pictures are still developing. here are the few limited pictures of one of my favorite cities ever.
our hotel room...hotel monaco..i highly reccomend it. Its in the heart of the city, two blocks from union square (which holds the best shopping..like...ever.)
we ate lunch at some hippy artsy resturant in berkely...they had no ketchup for my grilled cheese.
finally..my favorite place in san francisco
wahooo
seriously awesome
so i'll give you a laundry list of what i left out
visited sfsu and usf..didn't really see sfsu, had a tour at usf..which is awesome because its in the middle of the city, is also catholic, but has an amazing church...and its old
shopping in union square..yum
ran around china town
crashed a chinese wedding
ate at the empress of china (excellent)
visited mums 98 year old friend
got a free massage at our hotel
lots of jacuzzz
we stopped in santa barbara on the way home for some state street action
and thats pretty much it...oh! except for the best part of the whole trip
I ATE BREAKFAST AT TIFFANYS
yes sir
i woke up and walked a block to starbucks, got hot chocolate and a croissant, and ate it outside of tiffanys while looking at the window displays....yum.
good stuff.
