Well, I technically only have a two-week break. January @MIT is IAP (Independent Activities Period). I chose to spend mine interning at a small med company in Santa Clara.

I was out of the house for the 2-ish hours my mom left the stove on. Not only did both smoke alarms go off, no neighbors bothered to call us, and I learned today that our smoke alarm isn't connected to our regular house alarm.
