my roommate has been really annoying. it seems like she's lost the ability to speak in an indoor voice, and constantly uses an outdoor "look at me everyone" voice - and it projects. a couple nights ago, i was talking with the other girls in the apartment, and they agreed with me that they felt uncomfortable with any guy sleeping in the apartment. i ( Read more... )

yeah, i'm not sure what i would do if this were a whole year situation. you must've been counting down from the start. :P

When I was a freshman in college, my first (evil) roommate was very similar to that...However, I had a different way of dealing with it. She tried to do the "If there's a hanger on the door, don't come in" thing, and I said "NO WAY!!! I pay to live here, and I WILL sleep here. I don't care if you have someone in there or not, it's my dorm room too and if I want to go to bed, I will". She never tested me to see if I'd actually walk in on her or not...I think she took me quite seriously. However, she would come in drunk as anything, yelling & screaming at all hours. Since that was a long-term assignment and not just a summer thing (I wouldn't try to switch with only 2 weeks left), I got a new (awesome!!) roommate ( ... )

i figured that i would write her a letter, but it had a mean twinge to it (i had others read it as well). i don't want her to get on the defensive however - she does have more power in terms of making life miserable for me and the roommates when we have finals next week, and her not having anything to do. so, i've been trying to understand things more from her situation - being a little bit less proud and judgemental, and more forgiving ( ... )
