There's something to be said about those who fall in love with someone and put all their heart into that relationship. The world would be a lot better if a lot more people did so. Still, you can't forget about yourself in the relationship and what you would like as well. Both people must be willing to devote their all in order for it to work. So if you've tried changing and it didn't work, there's usually a reason and it could be as simple as it just wasn't the right person to be with at that point in time for you.
It's true there are no magic pills. But if there was one, would you really want it? If you took that pill, would *you* still be *you* or would you be someone else completely?
Still, I know you and I don't talk all that much but I can't help but think the situation you and I are in are quite similar. A few discrepancies perhaps, but overall generally similar. Feel free to chat with me on AIM or whatnot, mmk?
I'm feeling very similiar concerning the school things right now. I'm having a lot of second thoughts and I'm not really sure about where my life is going. I don't know what I'm gonna do with my life, but I know that I don't need to this second. Concerning the things your mother says, whoever said that you were her tool for bragging. Whatever you chose in your life is your decision and if she supports you, then good for her, but we all do things our parents dissaprove of(for the most part). It's almost the same way as you're embarassed that you have a mother who's being cold hearted, only the difference is that you don't go around telling everyone the way she might be doing. Hang in there Priscilla, everything will be okay, but it just won't happen on it's own. I know you have what it takes inside of you to get things done, and you do have some good friends to lean on when you need the support. And if all else fails, I'll pick you up, we'll drive to Cali and live with the Matches forever and ever :p
live! do what you believe is right. If you don't know, then stay at IIT until you do, if nothing else it is doing something constructive with your life. If you don't want to continue at IIT, then don't. but if you don't then you have to ask yourself some serious questions, most of them will likely involve supporting yourself.
Nothing is ever okay, unhappiness and tradegy is part of the human condition, and quite frankly I don't see anything wrong with it. I've seen people at their best when in their deepest hole.
Please don't ever stop or even try to stop the absoulte way of loving. It is one of the things that I admire in you.
Don't worry about your mom. It just seems like that she is coming to terms that you are your own woman, and with not the value system that she wanted to plant in you. Granted I haven't met her, but it seems that she will come to terms with it yet.
