i'm real sorry for your loss. I totally missed this post so forgive me for being a little late on the wagon there.

I completely understand the faith doubts. Its one of the reasons why i'm on the fence about the whole religion thing. But despite all that, there are still a lot of miracles happening, small as they may seem.

hope all is well.

Thanks my friend - I really appreciate it. I'm feeling better now. My faith has been strengthened as I'm letting go of the need to understand everything and accepting that I can't have the answers all of the time. I believe there is a bigger purpose to this loss and will be revealed later; in the mean time I faithfully wait.

What helped me jump off the fence was realizing that faith and religion are two different things - one is a lifestyle that brings growth in you while the other masks what needs to be healed.

I'll see ya soon.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure there is a point that He's trying to make. You know that I'm not a religious man, but sometimes things just happen, and there's no great cosmic reason for it. It's comforting to believe that everything happens for a reason, but perhaps the greatest challenge that He can present us with is standing up and accepting the things that seem like they happen without reason or purpose. Shocking and terrible as it is, maybe all that He wants us to do is stand up and acknowledge how valuable this gift of life is that He has given. Maybe there's not a point, but there's a reason...does that make any sense?
