Letters: May thy tribe grow

He could be a literary genius or Javed Akhtar's baap or (for diversity's sake) he might even be a whizkid flooring his bosses with his spotless presentations. But the male stable rarely takes credit for letters in love, letters "of" love being a much more evil form of feminine conspiracy.

So true. Gone are the old days of pure romance.

oh my heartless and bitchy image doesnt gel well with pure romance, but yeah, I can do with a lot less of insensitivity, to put it mildly :(

haha i didnt suggest anything of that sort :) ur obviously getting all the mean "action" and few "words", but its possible to write a note without being cheesy at all. It works better than roses ;)

Funny I should read this post of yours today. Last night I could not sleep so I came to the living room to watch TV and suddenly at about 1.30am the hubby surprises me with the sweetest love note in the world. He has sent me loads of love emails in the past but this was his first hand written note. I wonder if the paternal instincts are kicking in and softening him....

wow! it makes me wonder though, that if men actually figured out how easy it is to play to their women's weaknesses, they'd worry much less abt their credit card expenses.

I have been so lucky when it comes to handwritten love notes. I have a bag full of them, right from school days. Its so stupidly sweet to go back to them at times. I have been lucky with them now also. I still get handwritten letters, and I love the feel of them. They are real time, unlike this web.

woman tries to get man to commit, man tries to avoid/postpone.

Its almost like gambling with those 5 cards ... the card game u see in the movies ..

"Of the 2,000 women in the UK surveyed, 77% wanted to receive a handwritten love letter rather than a love text or email - indicating that hi-tech methods of communication are not good enough for today's modern women."

Obviously they want something which cannot be forged (digitally) and men prefer digital techniques for 2 reasons - ease of use & minimizing commitment content (digital stuff sort of does that for me I guess). Women have an additional reason for wanting a handwritten note - proof that the man can try out a medium of expression he is not using recently (read "move mountains") just for her ... oooohhh choo chweeeet noo ?

"One in five women say they've never received a note from a lover/admirer. Almost half complain they've not received one in a decade!"Have you ever posed to consider how a male would feel if you chics wrote them a lovey dovey message? Even an email/sms? The ( ... )

very good point! something i have thought of myself. men dont like to leave behind any trace :) whereas for a woman, every relationship is the "one", innit? well, most of the time :) minus a few fatalists like yours truly. still, i dont understand how this "proof" could be used against them :-/ unless he's been really BSing with her, they're likely to part ways with mutual agreement.

Have you ever posed to consider how a male would feel if you chics wrote them a lovey dovey message? Even an email/sms? The figures for men I am sure are far worse. So enjoy what statistics u have and stop whining ...

Your luck that you asked the wrong person, mate! I've done everything from paintings to poems to shayari to letters to you-name-it.
