So today I found out that "Community Food Shelf" is code for "Whatever You Put Here Might or Might Not Disappear Over Night". ...good to know. Wish I'd known that before the olive oil and the noodles got vanished into thin air

Yeeaah, looks that way. At least the fridge doesn't seem to count as 'community food shelf' so everything in there is mostly safe. Still. Sheesh.
