 I posted the last two chapters of The Next Level (my Yuri on Ice 300K fanfic), as well as the unfinished epilogue as a bonus, a few minutes ago. I've known for a while that I've lost interest in writing fanfic - which is fine! Everyone has phases - but it's only in the last few weeks that I've realized that I've also lost interest in participating

Hi! do I follow you on Twitter? I am travelingheidi but at the moment I'm not recalling what your handle is there. Does anyone say "handle" anymore or am I reverting to my CB radio days from 4th grade?

I don't think so - but honestly, I'm not surprised, and you're far from the only person who was following me other places and didn't follow me there. I set up Twitter when I started writing as Pen, so the handle reflects that and I'm not immediately obvious as azriona there. I think a lot of people forgot that Penelope and azriona are the same person, or they just didn't want to see what was essentially a non-fandom account. (Which is fine! Everyone uses different platforms differently!)

(But then, I also was not following you - which I am now - so pot, kettle, etc.)

Hi there - I'm glad to see you post!

I read this one with both interest and sadness. because it always feels as if fandom has become a little smaller when people decide to leave or feel they're forced in some way to do it. I do have a few thoughts on that, though

This was.... exactly what I needed, actually. Thank you. I know it, of course - how you have to step away sometimes and that fandom never truly goes away. I've been known to preach it myself. But I needed to hear it, so thank you for reminding me, and so well.

Yeah, I've been through this. Losing photobucket kind of destroyed my fandom spirit, to be honest. Losing the LJ communities kind of put the final nail in the coffin. Oh, once in a while I'll dip my toe in, but I just have a hard time finding passion for DW anymore. It has changed so much and I don't even enjoy it as a show like I used to, though I still like it (I'm only on 12, though).

I haven't watched DW in... oh, forever. It just got too hard to get access to the shows, especially when dealing with a VPN that never worked quite right. At some point, we'll go back and finish watching 11, and then 12 and now 13 (and did I see there's even a 14?) But right now, we're still trying to catch up on The Americans and Breaking Bad and OITNB, so it might take a while.
