Whew. Finally an update.

You know, there are pictures of scorpions and camel spiders everywhere around this country...and I've seen one. You've had more critters then I have. What the heck.

12' pieces of wood are typically extraordinarily heavy and difficult to balance on your shoulder. I could barely do an 8' by myself.

I love the bit about Nick's computer. I always wondered how he managed be online so much...lol.

Take care.

Finally indeed ... and I really DID have to nag ... a LOT! ;)

For pictures of our critters ... check out the Critters page from the photos link. Yeah ... we have been lucky to see lots of desert critters ... even a mini-version of the camel "spider" which isn't a spider at all, but a solpugid. Didn't get a photo of it unfortunately.

Saw a new snake yesterday ... didn't get a photo of it either (note to self: carry the darned camera when walking!!) ... still trying to identify it for sure ... definitely a gartersnake, but not sure if it was a black-necked gartersnake (fairly common), or a Northern Mexican gartersnake (very rare) ... which would be exciting!

I do read all of your crapola with a great deal of interest and amusement.

Best wishes,

Igor

Don't want to be forward or pushy, but ........... DON'T U DARE STOP THE JOURNAL ("Adventures and Misadventures of the Headstrong")

Carl

I enjoy reading of your travails, please send more.

Please, PLease, PLease keep sending this hilarious monologue to us, forget the rest - it keeps me chuckling gently.

We are about to embark on an identical venture to yours, other than a different country, cooler weather, more rain, fewer helpers and dogs (we have a cat!), smaller vehicles, less deadly wildlife, smaller area of land, less funding, less time to build, smaller final building, less sun for solar panels, softer ground, less boulders, less deadly wildlife (needs saying twice!), fewer Americans, more mud.

Hell yes! Everybody reads 'this crapola' as you call it! Keep 'em coming! :-D

Please! Do not stop sending these Athol-we enjoy them-I pass them on to Cedric and Bill Conway-and they are read ( ... )

Holy Cow,

Why would you ever think we do not await the latest with bated breath??? From the dull world of Tuxedo to the mountaintop of Arizona is a quantum leap of daring do. How else will I have something to talk about besides the wallpaper at all those cocktail parties I attend? I do not bother to watch any of those nature films when I can access your photos, complete with encyclopedia details. Genetics does it....an offspring with a pet tarantula.

Get the message????

Love to Beverley and a hearty handshake to the gentlemen in the crowd.

Lucy

“Puerile,” (Oo, that’s good!); “saga,” yes, absolutely-this could one day be your legacy to your generations who may no longer even know the concept ‘rural.’ But “not very much of anything”?-au contraire! You see, you are displaying the classic writer’s self-doubt ( ... )

Ouch, and by the way, I told you so.

If they pay people to measure the amounts of methane released by cow farts, I assume some people were paid to be stung by a number of insects.

Oh, and keep um coming, you know I like um.

You must be joking! We are all suffering withdrawal symptoms, from not getting your weekly story.
