Let's keep it real; PETA got on Pokemon's back for publicity and little else. Apparently they have some knowledge of the games considering the couple nods to it, but they care less about the medium and being a proper parody and more about "how many people can we remind that we exist?" That's part of how they get their funding, iirc.

The fact that they're continuing to target the video game community means that what they're doing is working, and the only way to make them stop is by treating them the way you treat any shitty troll: you ignore them.
