Finally got to a computer to check out the latest fandom news, and natch, hello Gen VI.
So! Let's hear le thoughts, shall we? Keep in mind that I did not read any reactions as of yet. I only browsed Serebii's main page and watched the trailer.
Gen VI
Well, fuck. I guess I have to upgrade the Ixodida's index number. Again.
Pokémon X/Y
"Well, fuck. There goes every title idea I've ever had for my hypothetical edgy Pokémon spinoff." Amusing and sort of sci-fi-ish despite the fact that a main Pokémon game would never delve into awesome sci-fi stuff. (Goddammit, I want a sequel to XD.) Okay, you've got my attention.
France-like Region
Brb, preparing the slash goggles. And setting all fic plot bunnies to
this.
Starters
Chespin
Oshawott's long-lost cousin? Idgaf... but then again, I never really did when it came to Grass-types. (COME AT ME, GUI.)
Fennekin
Fennec fox that will serve as obligatory fangirl bait. Meh. Only thing that excites me about Fennekin is the prospect for hilarious, hilarious Mary Sues.
Froakie
I WANT ONE. NOW.
Legendaries
Bird
*squint* What the fuck am I looking at.
Deer
Virizion, go the fuck back to Unova and take off the glowsticks.
Main Characters
Male
Virizion, when you go the fuck back to Unova, take Nate with you.
Female
Leaf, when did you start taking fashion tips from Dawn? She's FAAAAABULOOOOOUS. But really, this girl looks like she'll be a HBIC. I hope the standard fanon is she makes every other protag her bitch like a princess.
Facial Expressions
I really hope the characters have some semblance of them because oh fuck are they creepy up close without.
Battles
This makes me miss Colosseum and XD even more, ngl.
Only on the 3DS
...Dealbreaker. If anyone needs me, I'll be in the Gen III fandom.
(Seriously, there are legit reasons why I won't get a 3DS. Yes, I know that the DS is phasing out as the main Nintendo platform. No, I cannot give a fuck.
Final word: Mixed feelings. Not particularly excited, but some bits look interesting. Call me when they make a Gen III remake.
