Facinating! I love reading convention reports from other people! Thank you for showing us the underbelly of these events! I think Anime Matsuri may need a hotel liason for such situations. It sounds like what happened at Anime Expo 2007 with Halko Momoi. Momoi's hotel room was not ready on arrival - you experienced the rest.

It's always difficult for me to know if anyone reads/cares about my entries when i don't get any input. ^^;;

But yeah, hotel Liason sounds like a good idea...the con director and chairwoman acted as the sole contact for everything. But at the same time, i think it's good that they have control over everything that they do internally, because there's less risk of miscommunication. (It's just outside people don't move according to the director and chairwoman's standards, that's the problem...)
