I live and work not far from A2, Novi based actually. I teach for a company (their education manager actually) and all the classes are private or corporate classes.

I'm not from Michigan (Louisiana, originally, by way of a number of different states), but right now I'm living in Ann Arbor and going to EMU. In August I'll be moving to Ypsilanti.

That's crazy! I thought you were in Chicago - I guess because I found you through Bianca but being that this is LJ that doesn't mean anything. Small world indeed! Hope Ypsi and A2 are treating you well. I am often in those areas visiting friends - my brother's band The Great Lakes Myth Society plays a lot in those two towns, not recently however...

I know a lot of people who are like Obama that only categorize themselves as African-American. Apparently in America if you have any African blood in you then you are African-American. What's really interesting is that my brother's girlfriend told me that in Jamaica (which is where all her relatives are from) if you have the least bit of white blood in you then you are White, end of story. Different perspectives I guess.
