Narnia

Okay, first let me begin by saying, why the hell didn't Bald tell us he was the software engineer for Narnia? Damn him and his secret projects!

*coughs*

Anyway, I went to see Narnia yesterday with nightsong81 and musicwmnvla. Got off to a late start, so we wound up seeing the 1:30 showing instead of 12:50, but we still got tickets just fine ( Read more... )

I was super pleased with the movie. :) I haven't seen the BBC series yet, but I plan on doing that-eventually-when I have time. They decided to start publishing the Chronicles of Narnia in chronological order instead of the order it was written in, which puts The Magician's Nephew as book number 1. But, I think it's stupid to do it that way. I loved reading the series the way it was written. You get to know the world and the characters, and only later on you get to go back to how it all began, which I think is a nice pleasant surprise when you read the series the way it was written. If you read The Magician's Nephew first, I feel like it would take away the magic and surprise that The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe had. I really want to go on Ebay or something and find the series the way it was first released (I know-it's a totally picky thing on my part-but I want the books to actually say TW,W,W book 1, etc...)-this is all because I can't find my original copies of the series. *sigh* But anywho, yes, I'm glad you ( ... )

I just had an argument with my brother on Christmas Eve about the order of the books. He insists that Nephew is book one. I wanted to smack him.

I'm glad you liked the movie, I really enjoyed it. If you want to see the BBC movies in all their cheesy glory, I'll let you know when I'm bringing them to campus to show off. The quality's a little fuzzy, because I recorded them off PBS back before I had cable, but they're definitely watchable. If you can get to Drew, you should come see them. Unfortunately, since everyone's away, I probably won't be doing this until like the first week in February.
