So while not totally nerve racking its always a bit unnerving when one of your parents is abruptly let go. For example the kiwanis club deciding my moms job is not neccesary and a drain on funds. We will see how long they operate after this, I say 5 months before they close down. Anyway they gave her a good long severence check so thats nice. Still

Dude, I am really sorry! Your mom is so amazing, I can't believe she got shafted that way. I hope something works out for her soon, and she gets a job where she's appreciated.

yah its comforting to know there orginization is gonna fall apart at the seems. Also the people before her could only take the job she took for like a 2 years for 1 month, 2 weeks and 1 week respectively. So im some how guessing they are not gonna be able to keep up with it in their spare time.

She was the secretary for the club. This meant anything the members asked for, working with the hotel, paying bills, networking and speakers, any and all fundraiser coordination, catering (sometimes involving driving herself to bi-lo etc), managing the databases ie attendence dues letters as well as keeping the archives alive and in order.

They now expect to do this weekly by themselves in spare time.... i really really doubt it since they all have 60 hour weeks themselves and she had work 60 to keep that much going.
