The little one I'm adopting seems like a little ball of fire. She was wrestling around with her friend who was also up for adoption. When I picked her up though, she really mellowed out. I cradled her and rubbed her little belly, and she just closed her eyes and didn't fuss.
A spoiled little cat would be a wonderful addition to the house. My cat, Nikko, is the most laid back cat in the world. You could hold him upside down and he really doesn't give a damn. As long as he gets an occasional belly rub and a french fry every now and then, he's content. Maybe some of his personality will rub off on his new little friend, who knows? ^^
Don't know much about Softpaws, but do you clip your dog's nails? We don't have to for Jake, because he's always outside and he's a digger, but the girls need their nails clipped regularly. There shouldn't be a reason for a dog to scratch up furniture unless his nails are getting too long. Eating furniture is an entirely different story however :p
We do cut his nails, yes. My mom does, and she's afraid to cut them too short cause she's nicked him before and felt horrible about it.
He only scratches up the seats when we've run into the store and he's left alone and somebody parks next to us. He decides that he needs to give them kisses and love and doggy hugs, so he wiggles around like a dork. Because of this, when we bring him somewhere we park out waaaay in the back of the lot without any other cars... and everytime we come out, someone has parked next to us like clockwork.
Ahh, okay, I get you now. There's styptic powder in case you accidentally cut too far to help with the bleeding (Lola's nails are black so you can't see the quick. We've got it down pretty well now, but in the beginning, sad puppy and dying souls.) There was an instance on the highway that Lola felt the need to climb from the back seat and onto the gear shift, so they get crated whenever they go for a car ride, anymore. Dogs are dorksX10 when in cars.
