The other one I've read by her is Deep Secret, in which a centaur is turned loose on a fantasy convention, a building gains at least six right angles, and an imperial bueracracy is blown up, among other things. There were a couple plot holes that seemed to be patched rather loosely in the last third, when compared to Howl's Moving Castle, but they're at least considered and patched up eventually. The minors in that one can be real treats, and Rupert, Maree, and Nick are sympathetic without losing their flaws. The centaur customs aren't the focus of the book, but what we get is quite different from the centaurs from Xanth or Potterverse and still believable for them.
I love reading Diana Wynne Jones. I think I've read most everything she's written. Recently re-read Howl's Moving Castle to see how much was changed in the film. (Quite a lot, actually... but I love both.)
Yikes!(@_@) It went from a butterfly to a spider! (Is this a good or bad thing? *giggle*) Was it a butterfly originally? *blush* I didn't notice the first time I looked!
It actually started as a spider, then went through osprey, ocelot, wolf, and luna moth, that I saw. I think it's rather interesting to see all the different forms.

Haven't read DWJ for quite a while, but I did like Calcifer in Howl's Moving Castle.
