I'd hesitate to call this is the weirdest B7 ep because there's a lot of competition, but maybe it's the most intentionally weird one? Also, the only one with no guest stars?
That's a looong introduction.
Cally's cabin is so empty! You'd think she'd have collected a few personal belongings by now.
Not sure if Avon is behaving any different in the aftermath of 'Rumours'; I get the feeling his tone may be even flatter than usual but otoh that "Demonstrably" comment and smile suggests he's managing to keep some distance. (It is a rather lovely moment between him and Cally too.)
Not sure if dressing up as a matador counts as some kind of symbolic reaction...
"Well, if it really were alien it might not register as life." Ooh, forgot to hide your intelligence there, Vila!
Why are there party streamers in the tomb? They weren't there before
( ... )
"What, there's NO money for other costumes? None?"
No. But I have these jogging suits off of the market, and look, we have this giant pile of spandex. Maybe we can make hats or something?"
"But it's ORANGE!"
Oh, Sarcophagus. I did have to check the box to make sure I wasn't watching 70s experimental film projects. Such a lot of effort working towards one kiss. Tanith Lee, of course. Made sense hen I chckd the writer.
Cally as ever tugged my heart strings, although she meets so many telepathic entities I may be struggling now with her plea of being all alone. Tarrant is an arse again. Dayna sings... oh boy.
Despite or becaue of the weirdness I really like this one. Maybe because I AM an old hippy. And if you watched Rainbow growing up you accept random insert songs as normal.
Also if you look closely you can see Vila's fake thumb when he does the trick.
It's a reall nice Cally/ Avon episode. Avon has become more sympathetic (his own loss of Anna maybe?) and supportive. Jan makes a very pretty alien/oscar statuette.
