So many SF and/or fanfiction tropes all at once! And yet, I quite enjoyed it - somewhat in the same way that I enjoy "The Web" and "Mission to Destiny", I think. It's completely ridiculous, but entertainingly so. :-)
The exception being Cally's telepathy being a liability AGAIN (how many ep's now?) It's really horrible how she keeps being reduced to a plot mechanism. :-( No wonder JC left. And from a Watsonian POV it's even more horrible. Poor Cally. So much misery in S3 for all of them, but Cally just keeps getting one thing after another piled on her.
Last ep Avon did not want to investigate the mysterious space object, but this ep he does... Perhaps artificial planet just seemed more science-y to him (he's got that glint in his eye again...) Still, they do actually discuss it among themselves, Avon asking Cally what she thinks and agreeing to a compromise in the end (and later, allowing himself to be convinced by Dayna's logical argument.) Very democratic, compared to the Blake days!

Hmm, I hadn't thought about the shortage of marriage references! Can't remember now if any husbands and/or wives are ever mentioned at all in the show... Have to look out for that.
Yes, it would make Tarrant more interesting as a character I think. And maybe go some way to explain some of the personality discrepancies betweeb different eps too.
I very much enjoyed the Vila/ Orac interaction in this one. Vila trying for a giggle, Orac over analysing but the only audience in town. Lovely! And 2Sut up you arrogant pile of junk" is amde so much better by the sound of the thrown key landing and bouncing on the floor

Tarrant is truly an odd one, How much better if he really were a double agent!
