I can't see tough as nails Soolin risking the plan for Twu wuv however That's the ep's most glaring flaw to me. I just can't see her being that unprofessional. At the very least it must mean she's given up the pretense of just "selling her skill" to them, since she's working against their goals here (along with the rest of the "unpaid" team...) Unless Tarrant offered her better money, I suppose! (And it's not even as if it's a case of "...or they will never see each other again" drama to motivate it. They've gotten into Federation Top Security repeatedly; surely a few discreet meetings on Betafarl could have been arranged later on - when the diplomatic effects would have been less dire.)
My favourite bit is most definitely Avon's PSA-esque presentation to the world leaders at the beginning. He tries to look so knowledgeable and reassuring... but only succeeds in looking creepy and ridiculous.
I love the "Crawl back into your bottle" moment between Tarrant and Vila. Vila looks truly debauched, and Tarrant looks and sounds truly dangerous. One more indication of how rapidly things are going downhill.
Hmm, yes, they're all in tatters aren't they. Tarrant's slating Vila there has got far more feeling in it than usual and they're all utterly unconcerned by ignoring what Avon wants in terms of sending Zukan's daughter home. Even Avon's doesn't seemed surprised or able to muster being very cross when he finds out.
Interesting that Zukan's suggestion to Avon that if two of the crew die there'll be enough air for the others... Given the most recent episode! Avon rejects that fairly vigorously!
The conference scene always makes me giggle. There is something about Avon's rather less than smooth social skills combined with the fact that he is noticeably shorter than everyone else in the room and wearing that black jacket with the armoured sleeves... It's like watching a pack of supposedly fierce animals being badgered into line by a small, bad-tempered armadillo
