My choirs CD is being launched! Finally, after much angst (recordings never go as planned!) we have got it all together and the CD (which looks brilliant!) comes out tomorrow night after we sing a few songs and listen to a few speeches...drink some champagne ( Read more... )

Is it a four-part choir? How do I join? :)

I'm a second bass BTW, though I haven't actually sung in a choir for a number of years now. Those were the old days when I lived in the EUSSR (and perhaps a brief period before the creation of the EUSSR, which happened in November 1993 as I recall). Singing was a great way to cheer oneself up from the lousy weather and miserable political environment...

We do some 4 part, but most is more like 8 part...Why go the easy way? If you're interested, it's an auditioned choir, but we often need men - come hear us on Good Friday at St Johns Cathedral on Ann St in the city, 6pm. We're doing James MacMillans 7 last words from the cross. Or alternatively there's a number of other decent choirs, some with the same conductor, depending on which night of the week you want to go to rehearsals - email me if you want more details.
