At long last, a break

For assorted reasons, I worked every day for the past two weeks. Wednesday and Thursday, I finally had some time off. It was nice. I ran some errands, finally had a chance to get my hair done, read a little, watched some tv and cooked with my honey

what is Zigeunerschnitzel? I only know Jaeger & Wiener.

Zigeuner is the word for gypsie, so where the Jaegerschnitzel has mushrooms etc, the Zigeunerschnitzel has mixed bell peppers, onion, and mushrooms in a thick sauce. It has tomato paste, so it's almost a sweet and sour kind of sauce/topping. Haven't had it in years and suddenly it came back to me--we'll see how it goes
