Last weekend
foxglovehp and I went to the Lucketts Spring Antique Fair. I will post some impression from that lovely day in a separate post, but for now
I have always loved the old washtubs, but for the most part they are too big and not entirely useful in a modern home. I thought I might find a single square zinc tub, but the one I found was already sold. Not to worry, under a pile of aprons, I found a single, round, enamel tub in excellent condition.
It is now home to the back-deck herb garden and has been joined by a previously planted sage-filled zinc tub and a crock o'mint (can't never be too careful with mint, it is plotting to take over the planet, lol).
Under the heading of "while we're at it", I also moved some of the larger tropical stuff on the back deck since the new pergola should keep them from scorching too much, at least that's the plan.
The hutch still needs to be painted, currently the plan is to give it a whitewash, but it'll be fall before we get to that. Overall, the horrible back deck is now no londer horrible and we have been using it fairly regularly already.
