[B has his regain letter in front of him on the table, which he is sitting in front of, his hands resting on the caps his pulled-up knees. He stares at the letter intently for quite some time. He seems to be deep in thought

[This was hardly what he'd expected, upon opening the box. Maybe some horrible twisted version of a regain, perhaps. Maybe a trick. But not... this. Not some buried memory of a terrible decision he'd made back on Earth. Back at one of NEST's bases... Of course, he'd been justified in fleeing the area. Those twins were enough to drive anyone to desperation.
But where did that leave things now? The other party was, in fact, in Mayfield. How had he never noticed before?
Jolt. Of course. Oh All Spark, how was he supposed to explain this to Jolt?
He'd left the house, left the Valentine's gift he'd found for his mate behind, and just... started walking. He'd always done his best thinking on his feet. Maybe now wouldn't be any different.
Except he hadn't planned on running into the reason for this sudden, new problem. Spotting the human-robot-whatever-he-was, Sideswipe dropped his gaze, making an effort to keep his attention on the sidewalk.]
B didn't actually know what Sideswipe looked like in Mayfield. But what he did have on his side: the shinigami eyes. Since the Autobot had been reduced to human, B can see his name right there, floating above his head.
And, he's being ignored. B decides that does not suit his purposes. So he walks up directly.]
[his own stance doesn't change, and B waits calmly through Sideswipe's dramatics with a focused stare. Only when the other person finishes talking does he blink.]
Oh?
Then I think you will be pleased to know that I am not that "Bot" either.
[or any bot at all, but he wonders what kind of information he'll get from saving that for later.]
The nature of this exchange will be entirely platonic. In fact, I will even go so far as to say that it will be extremely platonic.
[B recalls when he used to go by "L" while using the scrambler. It's been too long since then, though, and he had done it in moments of weakness. It was a little embarrassing for him, so he changes it. He's sure nobody remembers it anyway.]
I am a kidnapped person in this town. For the purposes of the conversation, you may call me Ryuzaki.
Recently, memories were received by several people in the same manner as a regain; the memories of a forgotten loved one, meant to be shared with another of the town's captives. I cannot say with one hundred percent certainty that these mailed memories, themselves, are fake, but if they are not, then everything I had previously believed must be instead. It is one or the other, though, of that I am certain.

Do we have to? I... look. It's not...
[Deep breaths, Sideswipe.]
... If you're looking to pick up where we left off, my answer is no. I'm not the same 'Bot I was then.

Yes.
This time, they were disguised as the regains that the residents of Mayfield have generally come to trust.
