I'm wearing a muumuu and baking a cake. No one else comes home until 8 tonight. Music is playing in the kitchen and The View is on TV. It's starting to smell really good and I feel really comfortable.

As much as I want other people around, I have to admit that 'alone' feels really good right now.

I finished my Psych paper after pulling an all-nighter, but now I'm behind on everything else. This whole school thing was really fun at first, but now I'm kind of tired of it, and April is beginning to look longer and longer ( Read more... )

It's two o'clock in the morning and I've been working on my psych project for five hours and I haven't even started on the main paper. My project was to watch a violent cartoon (I watched Batman, which for some reason included Sherlock Holmes, and Batman fighting demons in hell. I haven't left the house in two days now. Emily and I have been working on making and shipping gifts to an ungodly number of people. I don't even know how many. Emily and I are heading up to DC to spend Thanksgiving with her brother, who's a lobbyist. Crazy. I'm imagining him as the guy from American Psycho, but Emily says he's actually a vegetarian who doesn't wear deodorant like he should and lives in a two-bedroom apartment. We shall see. Yesterday, my room-mate and I made a list of everything we needed to get done and finished it. Teamwork! I was really proud. We took down the Halloween decorations (except for the wreath of dead roses and skulls on the door, which is apparently a year-round thing) and put up Christmas decorations.
