Oh lj, how I have neglected you.  I knew that eventually I would again of course... at least it's only been about a month and not a year or so.

The reason for this neglect, general frustration about my project I suppose.  At least the flow cytometry is pretty much settled.  If the chloroplast sequencing has magically worked I will be content, ( Read more... )

Hee, but why does "prolix" amuse you? Because you haven't read the story which has made me laugh at that word, far as I know.

No particular reason, possibly because it's one of those words that when you look it up means nothing like what you think it should. Besides, it ends with x. What story makes you laugh at the word?

It was margaritas and "Undercover Blues". And the former had absolutely NO IMPACT on the funiness of the latter. Seriously, I've probably seen that movie oh, at least a dozen times, and still been highly amused.

"Oh, hi Morty."
"No. No. Not Morty, MU-ER-TE. It means DEATH."
"That's nice. Can I get you anything? Some coffee? Tea?"
"No, no, thank you. I'm fine."

And, okay, the fact that Stanley Tucci, Fiona Shaw, and Denis Quaid are in it amuses me. And the cops. And when he kills the light. And the doll. And the 'gators. Really, all of it.

The tequila didn't impact that at all.
