Went grocery shopping yesterday

Bought too much so needed help carrying it up from the car, basically had to beg J to help me with it, then when I asked for help putting it away...he scoffed at me.

Scoffed as in snorted/laughed... =(

Call him today on my way home from...first question was...what's for dinner.

I don't know, but yeah, that sounds really wrong. What are his tasks? You guys need to negotiate a chore list and stick to it.

Since he seems to be used to being really lazy, asking him to do more than half would be too much to start, I think... but... maybe...
Make a big list of everything that needs to get done.
Add two columns for each of you to rank how horrible you find the given chore from best to worst.
Split the list trying to be completely fair. Maybe taking turns or something.

Then post the whole damn thing, with a schedule, and do not ever, ever do his tasks. Trade, yes. If you guys don't clear this up now you will be a resentful, overworked housekeeper for the rest of your days. I worry for you!

...and still sometimes now. my bf was let off from the big m last summer and he sat and did next to nothing while i worked my ass off around the house. i completely understand where you are coming from. you have to tell him that it is 1/2 his place, 1/2 yours and he needs to do his half!
