I used to go to the gay youth group in Vancouver years and years ago. At first, it was a great way to meet new people.... after a couple meetings, the naive little me realized it was really a big insestuous group of horny teen and early 20's males *lol*. Not saying that the kanoodling is a bad thing really, but I just didn't like how everyone knew or tried to know everyone else's business.... I'm a fairly private person that way :P

And, how does dying your hair blue hurt people? :S

heh... which gay youth group was it? i went to a training session once and got picked up. nothing came of it tho. mostly cause... well... that's another story.

dyeing my hair blue apparently hurts the image of the family accoridng to one of the senior relatives. i'm reminded of it (as in 'you should not dye your hair blue again') any time i do something that they don't feel is right or whatever. like after i came out i was told they didn't care but 'don't dye your hair blue again--it's a shame on the family'. this member's train of thought is more along the 'why can't you just wear a different colour shirt?' mentality. same goes for facial piercings apparently :p

It was Gab, at the Centre on Davie and Bute *lol*. It was okay, just sooooo much drama, and I really can't stand drama for drama's sake. Apparently I was popular even after I stopped going, cuz people would come up to me on the street afterwards wondering what happened to me.... funny thing is that more times than not, I didn't have a clue who they were *lol*.

I have an aunt who thinks similar to your family member. She doesn't like how I've got a fair number of tattoos and thinks it's silly when I dye my hair even a more ordinary colour like blonde *rolls eyes*. I've actually told her though that I don't give a shit what she thinks cuz I'm still a good person, which is more than I can say about her. She never bothered me about it again :P
