And I have an insistent plot bunny about Merlin for once being the one who's conflicted about letting too much emotional content into an established sexual relationship, who's in denial and lying to himself.

I've been wanting to leave LJ for years; and since I refuse to give them money I've been stuck without a paid account for years. I'm really hoping DW will make it.

The interesting thing about Merlin being conflicted and in denial, drawing all the lines, is that Arthur is so much less able or willing to push. And whatever Arthur may order, Merlin generally ends up getting his way on anything he thinks is really important, either by convincing Arthur or working around him.
