Gwen likes Merlin, but I think it's more that he is sweet and loyal and kind, and they're in the same boat (more or less)--and that Merlin just happens to be very pretty (when he's not looking slightly odd) and has, occasionally, a truly amazing smile.

But sexual chemistry? Yeah, not so much

Threesome? Veleda says yes, please! Besides, as much as I adore both Merlin/Arthur and Gwen/Morgana, truly I'm all about the OT4 for this series. Because you have the sheer chemistry of Gwen/Morgana and Arthur/Merlin. But you also have Arthur and Gwen, who are, well, Arthur and Guinevere. Merlin and Morgana have the potential to be awesome magical buddies, Gwen and Merlin have their awkward/cute thing going on, and Arthur and Morgana might be siblings sniping at each other, or it might be UST. Foursome totally works.

I may have had a point there, but damned if I can remember what it was.

But that other story sounds fantastic.

(Also, I am trying like hell to find time time to beta your stories, but this semester plus work is kicking my ass beyond reason. It is not reasonable!)

Were it just porn with no set-up, it would be easier to write. But, no, it's all the frightfully awkward conversations that lead up to bringing another person--from Gwen's point of view a friend (whom she once had a slight delicate sort of crush on*)--into bed. Both Merlin and Gwen feel reluctant and rather ambivalent. And Morgana is a little crazy. My brain wants to set it while they're still quite young, but I can really only see it being *even slightly* plausible if they're all working from positions of roughly equal power. Because otherwise? The power dynamics start doing faintly unpleasant things. (Always a lurking issue in Merlinfic.)

* And who possibly is even sleeping with her husband, if it's set far enough into the future.

But I do love a poly-pairing, anything-goes fandom: any fandom that supports an OT5 is doing all right in my book.

And believe me, no worries about the fics. School is crazy for me, too, so I grok.
