I made this necklace/earring set for myself a while ago, to coordinate with a tapestry fabric used in some garb of mine. Originally, the centerpiece pendant was intended to be a fine-silver-work heraldric rose with a garnet cabachon in the middle. And where did you get that gorgeous display stand for the jewelry?

FireMountaunGems. com -- I want the hand on a pedestal, too, so I can prop the hand up against the bust for sets where I have a matching handflower...but I want it in a matching black, which they don't carry. My friend Erin found it in black for me on e-bay, but they want as much in shipping as base price, and I can't swing that just now. :-P

I like designing full necklaces like these, where the elements carry through, top to bottom. It's so much more unusual than either fancy chains, or just pendants. It's also fairly "period", but that's a more personal quirk. A little secret of this one is that I planned the length with that particular bodice in mind...the teardrop meant to fall juuuuuuuust where it pointed into my bodice-cleavage. ;-)
I wish the photo showed the stones better, though. It doesn't really show off the rainbow moonstone at all, you can't tell that the small garnets are garnets, and you can't see just how lucky I got with those samples of moss agate. The clear ones with the distinct moss formations are very cool, but for something like this, I wanted a more solidly "mossy" stone. These pieces were just gorgeous, opaque with dappled shades of natural green.
