The HBO pilot for A Game of Thrones is to be shot in Northern Ireland, a mere 90 minute-ish train journey from my own humble domain. I honestly do want to not go high nerd very often these days but this is too giddifying to resist, loving the books as I do. I'm so excited about this. :-D I'm just starting to watch Rome: Season 2, and if A Game of Thrones is anywhere near that quality I know it's going to be fantastic. But on that note, A Dance with Dragons now please & thankyou.

Rome was the business - I like to think that A Game of Thrones will mix the production values of Rome with the ludicrous intricacy of The Wire and thus make The Best Show Evarest. And have Polly Walker in it for the hell of things.

The episode, I would bet much money, will end with the first OH SHIT! moment of the book...

A Dance With Dragons: Will Martin finally resolve the issue of Jon's parentage at the worst time he could, given who is on the Wall with him...?
