egads, the Church *should* be criticised if it deserves that criticism.

What was the unforgiveable thing (I won't tell anyone, chances of me seeing the film are around 3-5% currently).

The problem is that Ireland does not have separation of Church and State in any meaningful way, so the church can throw its weight around quite a bit. That they maintain control of the school system doesn't help - remember the fuss about intelligent design being taught in schools? That's been done throughout Irish education - teachers are required to teach that God created the earth, and have no mention of any other theory. The US may have Christian-dominance in government, but at least there is no religion enshrined in the constitution, nor in the school system.

I can't safely say what the thing is in case Olivia reads this - I've been trying very hard to not give any indication of the movie so that I don't spoil her enjoyment (create a lack thereof). As with all adaptations, it involves a character.

Actually, that and why the hell (or how the hell) was Gambit suddenly on a roof?
