Yay,I got my wish yesterday!! Hubby and I went to Houghton's Pond again yesterday and Hubby brought a beach chair and a book along and sat in some shade to watch and wait! I went in swimming and had a BALL!! It was so great!! I'd brought along a bag with my towel and shoes, and after my swim I walked up to the shady place where hubby was sitting. I

I was surprised to learn that Hubby has never learned to swim!! My family had a summer cottage where we swam all summer*, but Hubby never had an opportunity to learn. *Before we owned a cottage ourselves, we spent a week or two at my Grandmother's cottage, at the same lake. All the aunts and uncles and cousins took turns there, while Grammy stayed all summer long. I still remmember the "chamber pot" under Grammy's bed, because the other alternative was the "outhouse', and NO WAY was Grammy going up to the outhouse in the middle of the night.
