Well GOOD, been wanting to have some Buffy discussion and the only one that's been interesting is robas cuz she's knew to the fandom and just started watching within the last year.

Oh Kristy I miss your fangurling :D. If anything you know how much I squee and fangurl over Buffy, she is, above all else my number one love. I don't think I'll be able to respond to this without hitting my character limit either *WEG*.

Though I do have to put one thing out there, I never liked Andrew, I never thought he was funny, there were other characters more a) interesting b) remorseful c) hilarious. But it also has a lot to do with the looong list of unnecessary characters that were brought on the last season taking the focus (growth, storyline etc..) from the characters that really mattered. And that's the core 4 - 5 if you want to include Anya, but I thought Selfless was a pretty good Anya ep. Do we sacrifice Xander's character, the fact that Willow seemed to be in some sort of...holding pattern for the sake of other characters that I'm sure a lot of didn't care that much about? But moving on from that, that probably is by far my biggest problem with the last season. It wasn't terrible, no by all means, but I felt like ( ... )

Spike...the rape it just, it literally killed something inside of me. And it should have killed something inside of any fan. Just..why? It was something that was just so personal so...I dunno, human. And I agree, I believe the grey Spike is so much more interesting. Why they felt they had to "remind" us he was a demon? I have no idea, to show us that Buffy could never be with someone without a soul? Someone with a hero's heart? But then how could Buffy ever be with someone that claimed to love her yet did this at the same time? I get so mad because everyone talks about how "advanced" he is, and how he could possibly love without a soul - I don't agree, I think love to them...is obsessive, and impure? I guess is the best word. They try so hard to tell us that he truly loved her, but then remind us that he's also a monster, so is it worse that if he really did love her he could also try to violate her like that? Does that make him better or worse then? I say worse. It's just something that I don't think had to go there, if he ( ... )

Just a couple of ramblings:

Why is the A/R such a big deal? At this point he's still a soulless demon and we don't hold Angel responsible for the atrocities he commits when he is Angelus, do we?

Buffy getting kicked out of her house is one of the scenes that angered me the most in all of BtVS (together with Dead Man's Party). Their rationale is insane.

And I refuse to believe B/A won't find some way of being together in this lifetime. I know it won't be easy but it just has to be. It's the optimist in me.

No but he doesn't claim to be in love with her. Is it worse to say you love them and then violate her like that ( ... )

No but he doesn't claim to be in love with her.

I'm not so sure about that...

I always wondered about the lack of change after he regained his soul. It's like Angel says in AtS 5: I spent a hundred years trying to come to terms with infinite remorse. You spent 3 weeks moaning in a basement, and then you were fine! What's up with that?

Oh and I absolutely think it's a big deal that he tries to rape her, of course it is, but I do think it has to be seen in perspective of the fact that he is soulless and the nature of his relationship with Buffy at this point (Hells Bells notwithstanding, they were a bit too cute around each other there). Their relationship has always been a combo of fighting and fucking and a no, no, no, yes, yes, yes pattern so I can understand Spike misinterpreting the situation in the bathroom just because he doesn't have a soul i.e. a conscience ( ... )

For those B/Aus shippers out there, I'm sure they'd all like to think that, we know that Angelus was OBSESSED with her "She made me feel human...that's not the type of thing you just forgive". Angel is ONLY twice removed from the Master, that's a hell of a lot of demon. I'd say Spike is more "contaminated" than Angel(us) is. He literally had no humanity in him, versus Spike ( ... )
