I would definately suggest Ephesians Chapter two.
Verses 8-10 especially
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith- and this not of yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

Salvation is a totally free gift, but when you are saved God totally transforms your heart ( behold if any man be in Chrits he is a new creation the old has passed away...can't remeber where that is found). He does the good work through you and then you can trust him and make that sacrifice, but only then.

hey, thanks for that. it helped. I'm actually on a new bout for discovering truth that sometimes just isn't explained fully in the Bible, if that is possible. Like, what is God's will? is it all good, or is it everything that exists and happens?
