I love it how the Lower House flipped from 3:1 in favor of the conservatives, to 3:1 in favor of the liberals!

Weeeeeelll.... "liberals". Kind of like how in the U.S., the Democratic Party are the liberals. Allegedly. Most of the time.

LDP and DPJ are both technically l 'democrats' after all, Jiminto- aka LDP is Liberal Democratic Party, and Minshuto- aka DPJ is Democratic Party of Japan.

I think they house flipped 3:1, not in favor of "democrats" but in disfavor of status quo. Of course, whether the new party can rein in the existing bureaucratic system, and the position of Japan in world stage now is still up in the air.
