when it rains it pours

then it floods. then it storms. then a tree falls on your house.

we are all fine, only minor damage to the house--it hit a corner and knocked off some guttering and did a small amount of roof damage. the house is still intact, we are insured, and all the massive windows are fine, yay! pretty bad timing though...

I'm glad you're in relatively one piece, but getting the attention of insurers and repair persons is likely to be the most difficult part. Unless of course your household is equipped to handle such events?

yes indeed. although I have already put the claim in and that was pretty easy. assessors and repair persons are estimated to take several days to weeks rather than weeks to months, so we will see what happens there.

That sounds pretty reasonable.

Terrible timing as I bet it will be virtually impossible to get handy helpers.

Gosh, sorry we are not there to help! But that does sound like an exciting way to start a day.

Glad everything is okay, if startling, yay insurance and such awesomeness.
