Speaking of Mordor (you know who you are): Guillermo Del Toro dropped from the Hobbit. Those who care probably already know, but I just found out, so I had to vent. Just as I'm starting to yell (because the director of 'Pan's Labyrinth' would do a GREAT job on the Hobbit), I see the list of directors bandied about for this, and got distracted.

There's a possibility that Jackson will direct instead.
What's more worrisome is that the film isn't even officially greenlit yet.

Yeah, I was sad to hear that Del Toro wouldn't be involved. But I agree, Sam Raimi could do a good job with it. I wouldn't have wanted him on the trilogy, but The Hobbit has a bit less of a Super Epic of Epicness feel to it.

Hell's bells, if Lucas or Cameron gets involved, that's a guarantee that I will not see it on principle. I could definitely do with Raimi or Jackson himself. Cuaron less so - I hated the way he handled Prisoner of Azkaban.
