I have recently seen a bumper sticker (and tshirt, and poster) stating that 'Right wing extremists founded this nation.' The poster has Franklin, Washington and Jefferson.

I am having a hard time wrapping my head around this - is this a Big Lie or does someone have a justification for it somewhere? This is the best summary I've found (ie, nuanced,

I really hate this "break all political philosophy into two states" crap. It's not an either/or. It's not a simple spectrum. Hell, it's not even that 2d spectrum the libertarians love so much, though that at least is a (mostly) honest attempt to cover more of the complexity.

I hate that liberal doesn't mean what it should, at least to most people. I hate the same thing about the word conservative.
