Meeting the new roomie

It was well past dark when River returned to her room; she had classes that day, and had been holed up in the infirmary with Simon, doing her homework, studying, talking to Simon, helping him out, and occasionally having tests run. She was exhausted and in need of a shower before passing out cold

Faith frowned in her sleep. She had felt warm, and safe, and comfortable, and then someone was poking her. Isn't that the way it always is though. She opened her eyes reluctantly to see a petite girl, warily eyeing her.
"Mmm. Mornin' sunshine. What'd I miss?"

River blinked and relaxed her tensed muscles, breathing a sigh of relief. "I see you're not a demon... not that you felt like one, but they can be rather sly," she muttered quietly, more to herself than to the drowsy girl in her bed. "You happen to be asleep in the space that I've claimed as mine. It's a simple mistake, since I haven't left any marks to distinguish it as such, but I would rather like to sleep after I shower, and it's not altogether wise for me to sleep in the top bunk, as I'm still occasionally prone to violent nightmares that send me tumbling out of bed," she said nonchalantly.

Mrrrr?

Faith squinted in the shadowy room, slowly processing the girl's words. "Oh. 'Kay." hold up... "Demon?"

A beat.

"You know. Demons. You're not one. I thought you might be. Caution, you know."
