And now for something completely different. I have some questions I need your advice on oh dear wise lj friends. We are doing save-the dates for the wedding and ordering invitations. Fun stuff ( Read more... )

1. No. However, if you're friends with them, then it's appropriate to include them. When our niece got married, we had the rehearsal dinner at my MIL's house, and the pastor & his wife joined us, since MIL is very active in the church and wanted to include them.

2. When I got married (the first time), we gave the priest $100; same for the organist.

3. You can, but it's not required.

4. It depends on how friendly you are, and how out of their way they went for you. Plus, whatever you can afford. :)

That said, I got married a loooooooooooooooooong time ago, and I know things have changed. I found this page regarding wedding tipping. Maybe you can use this as a guideline?

Thanks! I printed it out. I am friends with the pastor and his wife. Im going to a wine and cheese party next month at her house. Wild Presbyterians eh?

I never know the proper etiquette - - exactly why I had two reeeeaaaaalllly small weddings. ;)

I havent ever planned a wedding. I did the courthouse thing. LOL

Save the dates we got to send out now because its a holiday weekend here and we want people aware of it before they make reservations.

The cake is already paid for. We got a great deal or so I think. 250.00

No we have to pay for the food. Doing appetizers like shrimp, chicken fingers, keg of beer, few bottles of champagne. I am helping pay for it. 1500.00 or so I think.
